Pern Lego - Harper Hall Draft

Description

EDIT: Added a design for the Infirmiary. Not sure why I put the shelves that high - with Oldive's bent back how the heck is he supposed to reach them? Plus I added a pic of several mini dragon lego figures coloured so as to be Menolly's fire-lizards.

RUATHA HOLD LEGO CAN BE SEEN HERE: [link]

This one's not quite finished, mainly because I keep deleting the walls and starting over cause I can't seem to get it to look right. But I do have a vague idea for the layout.

As you can see here, it'd be four sets that can be combined to make up the Harper Hall. A good deal of the rooms inside have been shrunken, simplified and/or rearranged to allow room for more locations. Hence, the Dining Hall and Great Hall have been merged so that the Kitchen can go on the other side.

Top Right image details the South Wing; it'd have Jerint's Hall, the Archroom, and the stairs to it. I know they should be on the other side, but there's no room for them there, plus the Atlas Of Pern doesn't have anything marked for that side, so it seems a good location for it.

Next image down on the left details the Choir Hall and Shonagar's Hall (which should be the other way around; I don't quite remember why I set it up this way, although it might have been to keep the Choir Hall open to the Courtyard) and above this the Journeymen Apartments.

Next to that is the Apprentice Dormitory and the Infirmiary, with the Drum Tower not far off. Although this area is largely occupied by the Apprentice Dormitory in the books, for the reasons mentioned above regarding space, it would make sense to expand the small infirmiary to take up the entire floor, and put Oldive's office there too. This entire set could be based around "Dragondrums"; set comes with Piemur, Oldive and several others, Drum Tower includes greased stairs to fall down.

I originally thought it would make sense for Menolly and her Fire-Lizards to be included with that set, but since that would sort of overwhelm the set, it might make sense to lump her in with the Journeymen above Shonagar & the Choir Hall.

Finally, the bottom picture details the part of the Harper Hall carved from the rock of the hillside. Obviously, a basement level can't be added without affecting the height of the other buildings, so the Kitchens will need to be on the ground floor. The Great Hall can either be merged with the Dining Hall or the Choir Hall to make room for this.

As for the upper floor, this would consist of apartments, with Masterharper Robinton's apartment on one side. As for the other, it could be made Master Arnor's, to include the Archives.

Right, I'm going to give editing this another go. If anyone has any ideas to add to this - what to add in what room, which room should go where, how to make the walls look accurate by Lego standards (the main problem at the minute!) - please comment below! And of course, feedback is always appreciated.

The original concept can be read here: [link] and the Lego Ruatha Hold is also on my DeviantArt page.
